I heard of a standard letter to reclaim excessive costs for Banks and Credit Card late payment. true or false?

There is alledgedly a type letter to write to banks and credit card companies who have deducted or applied ecxessive charges for late payment. by modern payments I am talking about payments being made and only a day or 2 late. Either cheque or by electronic transfer. I'v heard of one guy who wrote to a credit card following complaining and threatening legal action, who received an offer of £1k due to the company excessive charging. Patently even if the banking / credit card conditions clearly express the charges. there is still an option to challenge on the actuall cost to the callers of collecting late payments against the late payment charge cost to customers?. Can anyone expand and by any means advise on standard letter to reclaim late payments.
Your ethical, they have been found guilty of profiting from the charges which is not allowed - the charges are only supposed to cover admin costs.
check out this neighbourhood http://www.penaltycharges.co.uk
and the forum http://www.penaltycharges.co.uk/forum.htm
they have all of the default letters & the forum has a part for each bank so you can see how other people are getting on with the bank you are trying with.
We just got £1300 back about 4 weeks ago. This is £100 less than we asked for. You can state back any charges in the last 6 years & if it goes to small claims court you can claim back interest too. Anyway it's all on the site.
good good break.
worto.

Going to bank tomorrow to see about getting a credit card...what reasons should I give?
Jul 25, 2007 by Dean Lewis | Posted in Credit
Well tomorrow I'll be universal to the bank to try and get a credit card. The real reason is because I want to try get out of my overdraft for once by the end of the month by putting my normal monthly costs onto a credit card and then paying that off at a fit pace to me.
Right now I spend nearly every penny of my wages by the end of the month. And last month I was on holiday and a sizeable chunk of the money problems I'm having just now are as a result of going away.
But now I want to rescue my bank residue and eventually reduce my overdraft. And I think a credit card will help me do this.
Now do I tell the bank this? Or will this go against my appeal for a credit card. If so, what reasons (lies) should I give?
I've been refused credit with other companies in the gone but I think if I go into the bank and speak personally to someone, I will give myself a better chance of obtaining one. Am I right to think this?
no you are not straight, and you will just get yourself into more trouble. you are spending more than you earn, and there aren't any tricks to make that come out okay. Why did you go on fair and spend more money than you have?
I think you have to face up to the fact that you make less money than you wish to spend, and either lay out your free time making more money with a second job, or cut back on spending.
Sorry, but your bank will not extend credit to a bodily who is thinking like you are.
