What is the difference between life insurance and life assurance?
Feb 08, 2703 by Ross F | Posted in Insurance
is there even such emotional attachment as life insurance. To insure something means to take risk away in exchange for money? I don't know, help.
The terms are often muddled (wrongly) these days, though properly it is life ASsurance. That pays out when you die, which is a certainty.
INsurance, on the other hand, is against something happening which may never occur. Such as purloining insurance on your belongings - you hope never to need it . . .

what should I be looking for in terms of life insurance?
Feb 20, 2009 by lisa_b | Posted in Insurance
I now find myself a free parent of 3 children under 10 years old and I am worried about financial arrangements should anything happen to me before they are independent adults.
What should I be looking for in terms of life insurance?
I've found policies that only pay out within a obstinate term, policies that only pay out on death at any time - I dont know what to go for!
Any help?
Hi Lisa,
It's a all right idea you are considering life insurance to protect your 3 children in case something happens to you.
There are two basic types of life insurance: Term life and Long-lasting life insurance.
Permanent life insurance usually costs 2-3 times more than term, and provides lifetime coverage that builds specie value within the policy. As long as you pay your premiums the coverage will remain in force.
Term life insurance is much less expensive. It provides transitory life insurance for a specific number of years from 1-30 years. If you need the most life insurance at the lowest price for a temporary duration of time up to 30 years, this may be an option for you.
If you outlive the term of your term life policy, the coverage expires. Period of time life does not build cash value within the policy, it is pure life insurance protection.
You may want to consider 20 or 30 year floor term life insurance that provides a guaranteed level rate and coverage amount for the term of your policy.
I hope that helps. Unsurpassed of luck to you and your family.
