Has anyone been victim of debit card fraud how much did u lose, did u get it back how long did it take ?

I have merely lost £4000 through one fraudulent transactions using my debit card by citi card in SALFORD. My bank is dealing with it and assure me I will get my money back. Has anyone else suffered this fortune, how much money was taken, did you get it back, how long did it take to get back and how do you think the scammers got access to your details. My bank is HSBC
should i contact the banking Ombudsman to stock with my problem and return money back imediatley.

My card was 'cloned' == I assume trust to at an 'up market' Restaurant in London (it was the only time it was ever out of my sight ..)

Multiple 'small' Cash Machine withdrawals took prosper in France ..

The Bank phoned me** to confirm I was not in France and then 'stopped' the card.

I got a new one in about a week, but it took another week to get the new pin number ..

If the withdrawals were ever on my 'annunciation', it was sorted out the same month ...

My cards are now all 'disabled' for non-UK transactions .. when I go on holiday I ring the Bank before leaving UK and perceive them where I am going and for how long .. the Cards are then 'enabled' only for that 'county' / time (all EU counts as the same 'rural area', so I'm guessing they do it based on currency ..)

**NB NEVER EVER give your details to some-one who phones you saying 'this is your Bank' ... chances are, right after you gave them your PIN party, you will realise it's not your Bank after all :-)
