what paradigm of debit cards are there in ireland and what is the minumum age you have to be to get one.
You can get Maestro (Thrash) cards, they are only here in Ireland since the start of 2006...I have one, and its great, because I can use it abroad, its just the same as Maestro (Switch) cards everywhere else. You can use it as a "chip and pin" or it can be swiped like a impute card, or you can use it in an ATM and also as a cheque validation card.
I got mine from AIB...you can only get one if you have a current account in one of the banks the issue Maestro (I meditate on bank of Ireland do as well as AIB). You have to be over 18 to have a current account.
Here is the link for AIB current account services:

Laser is the primary debit likely system used in the Republic of Ireland. I'm not sure what the minimum age is to get one, though. If you check out the actual Laser site (the 2nd one below), you can contact them to find out how old you have to be.

whats the mystery with laser/debit cards in ire? how much do they charge? lik do they charge intrest etc?(i no they charge you what u used it to buy)
a laser card isnt a depend on card
A lot of attribution cards charge no interest for the first 6 months - try halifax. They then charge 11.7% interest after that
Try Permanent TSB for a laser card as they don't charge laser fees
