Starting a New Business... Need Help!

Hi All,

I difficulty some advice about how to start my new insurance business in NJ. I have a travel agency and I would like to add another option for my clients and I thought the insurance industry would be the best fit for my subject.

I took P&C Insurance classes 2 month ago and last week I passed my P&C State Exam. Now, I would like to know what I need to do to start constant my business.

I did some research online and so far I'm confused with the following:

1) Should I joint a private company or an insurance wholesaler?

2) An Agency stewardship system - which one should I use?


Any advice would be appreciated...

Insurance Pools Readied in Some States New York Times

In another 20 states, where particular officials chose not to participate, the federal government will run the pools through a private nonprofit entity.

Applications will be convenient to the public in many states on Thursday, and coverage could start as early as August, said Richard A. Popper, deputy top dog of the new federal Office of Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight .

After struggling for months to fend off Republican attacks on the new healthiness care law, White House officials hope the high-risk insurance pool will produce tangible benefits for people who are uninsured — and for Democrats ceaseless in midterm elections this fall. The law has become an issue in many races.

Colorado, Maryland and North Carolina are in the vanguard of states planning to run superior-risk pools with federal money.

“We are ready to go,” said Michael T. Keough, principal director of the North Carolina Health Insurance Risk Pool. Mr. Keough said he was prepared to start taking applications as ere long as the federal government approved his program.
