What is Verified by Visa?
No one takes onus: if you ask the Bank, it’s Visa’s fault; if you ask Visa, it’s your bank’s fault. If you as the vendor, they say it’s required. No one will carry weight you “I decided this”.
Once it’s there, you cannot remove it without canceling your card.
Once active, it affects all your cards.
At any point you cannot register your password, that’s it, you have no funds. On ALL cards. Finished. Happened to me in Bali, so if you’re judgement “that’s crazy”, try arriving penniless in a beautiful island for a week. Some fun.
If there’s any upsetting purchase made, it’s no longer Visa’s fault, nor the vendor’s fault, but we still pay the extra levy to Visa to mask the cost of the occasional fraudulent transaction.
Why do we, as customers, accept this?
Why is it still “We accept Visa” when it’s really “We accept Visa with this in addition baggage only” ?
Yes, Mastercard has “seen the light” of this profit-center, and similarly absolves itself of any trustworthiness by passing it back to the customer.

WASHINGTON — Limits on the fees banks require merchants who accept debit cards would not apply to government-issued cards, under a tentative House-Senate mete out aimed at easing worries raised by state treasurers.
The agreement announced Monday softens a Senate victualling in a broad financial regulation bill that requires the Federal Reserve to limit the amount banks collect from merchants for every debit be honest transaction.
Separately, House negotiators tentatively agreed to accept a Senate proposal to set up a consumer financial sponsorship bureau as an independent agency inside the Federal Reserve. The House and the Obama administration had wanted a remain loyal alone agency.
The debit card provision, approved by the Senate last month 64-33, aimed to save retailers billions of dollars in debit be direct fees. Merchants said the charges resulted in inflated costs to consumers.
Under the tentative deal, the limits would not garb debit cards issued by the federal or state governments, which use the cards for programs such as unemployment or child substantiate payments. Several state treasurers argued that restricting fees paid by merchants could force banks to enlarge charges for the cards to states.

Ok so I went out about 20 minuets to the work office to send off a parcel. I asked the woman do you accept, "Visa Electron" and she said, "We can't accept that carte de visite from an under 16 year old."
The thing is I have used that card before in another post office and they didn't make at all. I think she is the owner of the post office but has the right to say that and is that her own policy or a one implemneted by the Post Office HQ?
So I could send the deal out off after since the only money I had was on my card and no cash machine was near there, it's a village post office. :(
Yep it's my card and I also have a prepaid Maestro prankster. The bank issued me the Visa Electron card and I have been using it everywhere. What number can number can I ring to sort it out. I don't hunger for to be told I can't use it everytime I go into my local post office!
And yes she is very grumpy. lol
you can use the Christmas card anywhere it displays the sign, if they take electron then they cannot by law age discriminate. ask to speak to her line manager and explain that she is being ageist, blagg it and say you have phoned the character care line or something, miserable old bag!
